Thinking of going to Cuba? This site documents our trip to the island in May and June of 2000 as a part of West Virginia University's History and Economics of Cuba program. Cuba is a fascinating, and living example of a traditional Marxist-Leninist economy undergoing a slow and unique transition towards a more market-oriented system. Get the inside scoop! Our goal in creating this site was to go beyond jogging the memories of former program participants. It will tell the untold stories and provide interested WVU students with a chance to see what the program is all about. Although the site is geared towards "Mountaineers", it will be of use to any tourist or student planning a trip to the island. For more information on taking this study abroad course through our university, we refer you to Professor Bill Trumbull's official site. Oh, and feel free to email us with your questions or feedback! enjoy... |
